About the AGI Society

General intelligence is not a problem for one discipline.

Artificial general intelligence reaches across computer science, cognition, robotics, economics, philosophy, labor, policy and institutions. The Society exists to create durable places where those perspectives can meet.

The premise

Bring deep expertise. Encounter the general problem.

Members do not need to stop being specialists. The point is to understand how their field fits into a larger question that no specialist perspective can resolve alone.

Chapters

Local, sustained inquiry

Chapters bring serious people from different fields into recurring conversation around general intelligence.

Conference

Ideas meet disagreement

The AGI Conference convenes competing technical approaches and adjacent disciplines in a common scientific forum.

Journal

Knowledge becomes durable

The Journal of Artificial General Intelligence provides a peer-reviewed scholarly record for research on general intelligence.

Why chapter-based

Understanding circulates.

People bring questions from their laboratories, companies, universities, governments and communities into the Society. They encounter other disciplines, sharpen those questions, and carry a more general understanding back into the places where they already have expertise and responsibility.

Our mission

Navigate society through the transition to AGI.
