The AGI Society

Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is the pursuit of thinking machines: general-purpose systems with intelligence comparable to the human mind, and perhaps ultimately well beyond it. Once a fringe idea, it is now widely recognized as the defining goal of the field.

This was the original goal of Artificial Intelligence. As mainstream AI research turned toward domain-dependent, problem-specific solutions, a separate name became useful for the work still chasing the Grand AI Dream, what others have called Strong AI or Human-level AI. Today that name is part of the common vocabulary, and the AGI Society has spent nearly two decades advancing the research behind it.

The AGI Society is a collection of independent researchers, theorists, and developers committed to this goal. Bringing the groundbreaking advances toward AGI to the wider public takes time and people, and you can be part of it.
